| | REACH | 30-May-08 | | REACH is the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substance.
It came in force in 2007 with the transitional pre-registration period of June 2008 to December 2008. This pre-registration period allows manufacturers and importers of chemical substances to submit a summary dossier to ECHA, the governing body (European CHemicals Agency).
After this transitional period, complete registration will begin with variable deadlines depending on tonnage.
1 - 10 Ton 31st May 2018
10 - 100 Ton 31st May 2018
100 - 1000 Ton 31st May 2013
> 1000 Ton 30th Nov 2010
The majority of products supplied are preparations which are exempt under REACH as long as each constituent substance has an EINECS# and is pre-registered.
AmegA Sciences Plc is communicating with all of its suppliers to ensure all raw materials are pre-registered so as to not disrupt product manufacture.
All synthesised substances (in excess of 1 Ton per annum) will be pre-registered and registered accordingly.
You will either be a Downstream User or Distributor as defined by REACH and thus have no legal obligation to pre-register.
During the course of registration, we will be contacting our customers to ascertain exposure scenarios and usage.
